This project involved designing and implementing an AI-assisted automation system to support the preliminary design and documentation of fiber-reinforced concrete floors in accordance with Eurocode industrial construction standards. The system was built as a web-based tool using an interactive HTML interface combined with a conversational AI agent to guide users through engineering inputs and design decisions.
Users could configure parameters such as slab dimensions, concrete class, building type (e.g. warehouse or residential), and applied floor loads. Based on these inputs, the AI agent dynamically asked follow-up questions to refine the design assumptions and calculation scope. The automation pipeline executed structural calculations, generated technical specifications, and produced multiple engineering outputs, including floor plans, saw-cut contraction joint layouts, calculation summaries, and a rotatable 3D conceptual model for visual validation.
Due to the computational and prompt complexity, parts of the AI workflow—including prompt orchestration and output generation—were deployed on an AWS backend. One example task involved generating AutoCAD-compatible DXF files directly from structured prompts, enabling the automatic creation of CAD-ready structural drawings without manual drafting. The system ensured that outputs remained consistent with Eurocode-based assumptions while clearly presenting results for engineering review.
This project demonstrates the use of AI as an engineering support and automation layer, bridging user interaction, structural logic, and technical documentation within a single workflow.
