This project focused on automating the creation of CMR transport documents by linking scanned warehouse item data (Pallet HU numbers) with a formula-driven spreadsheet system and a centralized cloud database. The goal was to eliminate manual data entry, reduce document errors, and accelerate transport documentation for office staff.
Scanned item identifiers from warehouse operations were automatically populated into a structured Excel-based workflow. Each scanned entry was validated using built-in logic, including checks for article number format correctness (e.g. 10-digit validation) and consistency between scanned items and expected shipment data. Incorrect or duplicate entries were flagged immediately for operator review.
The system aggregates validated scan data and combines it with reference information retrieved from a cloud database, such as receiver details, pallet type, planning date, and transport configuration. Based on this combined dataset, the workflow automatically calculates total handling units, pallet counts, and shipment totals.
Once all conditions are satisfied, the system generates a complete CMR transport document for office use, populated with article numbers, IANs, pallet information, truck number, outbound date, receiver address, and handling unit totals. This significantly reduces preparation time and ensures consistent, auditable transport documentation.
